ONE/OFF's intent is to explore the atrophy and loss of ownership produced throughout the numerous generations of a photocopied publication, as well as the possibilities of the collaborative relationship between humans and machines. The copy on the cover of the publication is an allusion to Alvin Lucier's "I Am Sitting In A Room" audio recording, which inspired this piece of work. The audio in the above video is the last fifteen seconds of said recording, and the quote is by Jean Cocteau.

If you'd like to be a part of this project, send an email to elliot.vredenburg@gmail.com with something about ONE/OFF, or photocopies, or none of the above in the subject line, and I'll send you a copy of the latest version. Know that this project cannot continue without your contribution. Feel free to check out the contributions thus far.
